However, the Bible says Jesus is coming back for a glorious church. That presupposes that the church which Jesus Christ is returning to must be a wholesome and healthy one. Hence, the church needs to return to the originality of the scriptural foundation and internalize apostolic traditions for the full restoration of the health of the church and the long awaited manifestation of the Sons of God.
For the whole earth to be electrified by the Glory of God, for the church to be able to teach principalities and powers the manifold and multidimensional wisdom of God, we must wage war against spiritual ignorance and wipe out Biblical Illiteracy in our present generation.
To achieve this, proper biblical teaching and apostolic impartation are fundamental. We need to remember that the Ministry of Jesus Christ was successful partly because of the effectiveness of His teaching Ministry. Also, the Apostles were able to impart their generation and turn the world upside down, essentially because of the power of utterance through the Spirit of God. The Church of the 21st century must return to a systematic re-training and reconfiguration of its members in order not to become history.
No Church can grow beyond its capacity to teach, neither can any church grow beyond its capacity to meet the needs of its congregation. Biblical teachings must not be boring but interesting and practical. Our Master Teacher, Jesus Christ taught His disciples in a practical and interesting manner, using a variety of formats, fora and forms. The Apostles also did the same, using diverse means and methods.
To be on the cutting edge of the current global reformation move, the Latter Rain Assembly redesigned its discipleship training programme. The new training programme is developed within the context of a modern Biblical training programme to respond to contemporary needs of the saints and seekers. It is called Apostolic Training School and is designed to:
- Turn seekers to saints;
- Ensure that saints mature and become ministers;
- Enable members understand the need for commitment to a local assembly;
- Promote active participation of all members for the expansion of the kingdom;
- Progressively move members from the level of information to transformation;
- Equip members for the work of the ministry with a view to releasing them into their respective mission fields;
- Wipe out Biblical Illiteracy.
- Fill 'Jerusalem' our immediate and extended environment with our doctrine;
- Promote the principles of AUTHENTIC BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY AND APOSTOLIC CHRISTIANITY TODAY.
The programme is divided into four levels:
1. Membership - 100 level
2. Maturity - 200 level
3. Ministry - 300 level
4. Missions - 400 level
